Actually, @Whimzee, it is possible to combine goods from both: data packs and modding. So if you can do something with datapacks but not sure if you can do it by modding, you can do it with datapacks and even implement parts inside your code. Functions folder will be inside /resources/data/your_mod_id/functions, and I guess the rest can also be located by the same logic. Hope that helped you a little bit😅

What about a boss update that gives us midbosses and new structures in biomes like plains,copper chambers,snowy tundra,mossy cave and underwater and add things like a mutated skeleton with a two handed diamond sword in a ancient abounded village in the mossy caves,copper shark golems in a small underwater temple, Archer pillager that's like captain America of the illagers and fights alongside the illagers in a upgraded pullager outpost,a yeti with a ice shield or a wind evoker that uses wind spell book to fly a bit,throws wind charges and spawns mobs at will! That would expand the overworld with more bosses,more about the illagers and exploration and expand weapons introducing wind spell book allowing you to fly and throw windcharges at the cost of lots of lapis,two handed swords,ice shields and upgraded bows and sure five new structures and bosses seems like a lot but Mojang as a full year to make a update and could easily do that and it fits their rules and they don't have to do a big massive change like update the nether,caves or the end! A boss update is better than the wild update that adds a ancient city,two mobs and a new biome and few new items but most not game changing

Structure update: the structures are kinda boring now even you create awesome structures imagine walking through the jungle or desert or even underground and you see you structure like a mega temple in the jungle or desert maybe mineshafts or dungeons that would be so cooolll (1st I know you didn’t make a minshaft mod 2nd it is a lot of work)
